The 'Fitbit for the environment'
Could we co-create the world’s climate app
with ‘feedback from the future’ and build the
start of an ‘impact currency’?
We work to change
global systems from the
individual behavioral change.
We build technology founded on the values of open-source collaboration and cooperative ownership of our own carbon metrics.
We are a fast growing globally distributed team of volunteers.
We are developing a free, fun, easy to use, mobile app that seamlessly monitors our day-to-day activities to reveal our actual carbon impacts.
It then extrapolates the data to predict the kind of world that is being created if everyone else was to live in a comparable way.
A rendered gorgeous mini ‘inner planet’ illustrates the world you are creating.
Through this 'feedback from the future’ - everyone feels connected, briefed and excited to make the transition to creating the world we want.
The first Personal Carbon Tracker [PCT] provides the structural foundations for this endeavor and is an extraordinary way of taking personal behaviour, and through calculation and climate science, arriving at ~temperature rise if everyone lived that way.
"This is a revealing - and sobering - tool that shows us the predicament we're in;
hopefully it will help people shift in a more sustainable direction."
Bill McKibben, founder of 350.org, the first planet-wide, grassroots climate change movement and named as “probably America’s most important environmentalist.”
"It is really helpful to be able to highlight this the way you propose."
Corinne Le Quéré, Professor of Climate Change Science and Policy at the University of East Anglia and Director of the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change
"I was thinking of this too yesterday. It is a very good concept"
Sir David MacKay, FRS - Chief Scientific Adviser to the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) 2009 to 2014
